About Sam
Meet Sam, a charming 9-and-a-half-year-old Dachshund with a personality as adorable as his tiny stature. While he might be a bit nervous at first, it's not long before his friendly nature shines through, revealing a sweet companion ready to fill your home with affection and joy.
Sam is a bit of a curious canine when it comes to sounds. You'll find him alert to any new noises, proudly displaying his skills as a "stimulus barker." However, once he gets to know his environment, he quickly settles down and comfortably becomes quite the non-bothered gentleman around other dogs. His dexterity shines when he interacts politely with cats, showing a gentle respect that can ease the heart of any feline in residence.
Enjoy relaxing afternoons at home with Sam at your side, as he takes his time exploring his surroundings. Once he trusts you and your routine, he becomes an increasingly adorable companion. Age is merely a number for Sam, who carries the wisdom of his years while maintaining a youthful enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures. With time, attention, and gentle encouragement, Sam is sure to become a cherished member of any family, bringing a unique dash of charm to every day. If you're looking for a polite and loyal friend who will love you unconditionally, Sam is excitedly waiting to find his new forever companion—could it be you?
Medical notes
Sam has had full mouth dental extractions at the time of desexing. It has also been noted that he has mild bilateral carpal valgus (turning out of the feet)
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
