Hi there, future friend!

My name is Bodhi, and I have a feeling we could be the perfect match.

I’ve had a bit of a rough start in life. After being abandoned, I ended up on death row in a pound with my time running out. But thanks to a wonderful foster carer and Off The Chain K9 Rescue, I was given a second chance! Not a lot is known about my past life, but the pound staff just adored me, and so does my foster home!

Since coming into foster care, I’ve been such a great addition to the family. My foster carers have given me a great foundation, and I’ve learned to love life again. I spend my days happily exploring the yard, napping, and playing with my furry foster siblings. At night, I’m a real sweetheart—I love snuggling on the couch for TV time and then settling into my crate, or going outside to the patio where I sleep soundly through the night.

I’ve met all sorts of dogs during my time in foster care and have gotten along well with most of them, though I prefer not to live with pushy or very dominant dogs. I can live happily with other dogs, but I'd also go great as a single dog. I currently live with a large breed teen male dog and a large breed female, and we get along but it took some work at first, to get them to listen when I was asking for space, and for me to stop being so standoffish.

I’ve experienced a lot of “firsts” in foster care—baths, vet visits, and road trips—and I’m learning quickly. I’d love to go on adventures with you a few times a week, whether it’s a fun outing, a run, or a walk. I am fully grown at 28kg, but I could stand to lose a kg or two! My cute chunky self has a stumpy tail too, and it is so much fun for my carers to see my butt wagging away when I'm happy!

To keep me safe, I’d like a home with a 5-foot fence or taller. I’m looking for a special human who can spend lots of quality time with me and help me keep learning every day! I’d love an owner who’s home often or works part-time, so we can be together and work on my training as a team. With your guidance, I know I can be the best companion ever! I’m ready to give you my full loyalty and lots of love in return.

I've got a big heart and tend to form a close bond with my favorite person, so I need an owner who understands my loyal nature. Sometimes I can be a bit protective of my human when other dogs come near them, but with continued guidance and training, I’ll learn to share my love and attention with others.
