Benny

Please meet Benny, a sturdy and delightful bundle of Jack Russell/Dachshund energy and affection. He was born on 26 September 2023 so has a whole lifetime ahead of him.

Benny's intelligence shines in his growing repertoire of good manners. He's mastered the outdoor bathroom routine and confidently uses the doggy door.

At mealtime, he sits and waits patiently - although a "Go Slow" bowl is advised, as this busy little boy gets excited when it’s time to eat! Benny knows his boundaries and has learned that the kitchen is a ‘no-go zone’ except at dinner time when cuddles and love abound.

At just 15 kilograms, this exuberant boy loves to show off his impressive leaping abilities, but a firm "Off, Benny" is all it takes to rein in his exuberance.

Benny is a busy pup who thrives on both physical and mental stimulation. His love for munching on toys and his eager-to-please attitude make him a prime candidate for further training and activities like agility and coursing.

However, expect the occasional playful protest when things don’t go his way—Benny might fix a steely gaze on you and give a playful "hurrumph," wagging his tail throughout the perceived injustice. Nevertheless, he remains an endless source of happiness and humour.

Benny needs an active home where he is included in daily walks, perhaps with older
children who can assist in his socialization and training. Having someone around most of the time would be beneficial since Benny loves companionship and attention.

Benny is dog-friendly, but as always new introductions should be supervised and ideally conducted on neutral territory. He is untested with cats.

When it's time to unwind, Benny loves nothing more than curling up with his humans for snuggles or dozing on the lounge with a favorite blanket. If he’s been especially good, he might ask for ‘magic ear rubs,’ which send him into heartwarming bliss, complete with eyes rolled back in satisfaction.

Energetic and lovable, Benny may occasionally frustrate you with his clownish antics, but the joy and loyalty he brings will undoubtedly make it all worthwhile. Let Benny become part of your household, and the laughter and love will surely follow.
