About Winnebago
Hello there! I’m Winnebago, but my pals call me Winnie—feel free to do the same!
I’m a smart, gorgeous country dog looking for my forever home. I was found wandering in Tamworth, and some nice humans brought me to the big city! Everything is super new to me, but I’m brave and love to explore with my foster mum's support. Sometimes I peek out from behind her legs to watch from a safe spot, but she’s helping me feel more confident every day!
About Me:
Personality: I’m all about invading personal space (it’s a dog’s duty!), snuggling up, and solving food puzzles! I’m a pro at making new human friends—if you make eye contact or smell good, I’m right there! Everyone I’ve met thinks I’m the best!
Foodie: You might think I’ve never eaten a meal before (I promise, I have!), but my foster mom keeps my belly full. I’m super food motivated, so learning new tricks is a blast! I’m well-behaved and toilet trained, but I’m still working on commands like "sit." I can do it at home, but outside? There are just too many distractions! I can "come" when called and I’m getting the hang of "stay."
My Ideal Home:
I’m a strong, independent gal who’s perfectly fine on my own, but oh boy, do I love hanging out with my human! A home where my new family is around a lot would be just paw-some for me.
I currently live in an apartment in a busy part of the city, and all the sounds don’t bother me—I actually enjoy sitting by the window and watching the world go by! A place with a yard would be nice too, but being close to my family is the most important thing to me.
Kids: I might get a little startled by loud noises, so I think a home with older kids would be best. I’m calm and patient, so I could probably adapt to younger ones too!
Other Pets: I haven’t been around other dogs much, and they make me a bit nervous. But if my new family is patient and knows how to introduce us, I might surprise everyone and get along with a furry friend! I’ve never lived with cats, but when I see them on the street, I just mind my own business. So, I think I could handle sharing my space with a kitty too!
Energy Level:
I’m in my retirement era, which means I love to snooze during the day—especially if I can nap right next to you (or maybe even on you)! I still enjoy going for walks. I’ve got some stamina left, but I’m definitely not as speedy as I was when I was a young pup. Let’s take it slow and soak in the sights together!
A Note from My Foster Mum:
Hi there! It’s Winnie’s foster mum! I just have to say, Winnie is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. She’s really coming out of her shell and showing off her personality, which is full of sass! Her zoomies are pure joy to watch!
Winnie is super smart—maybe a little too smart! She loves her puzzle feeder, but she’s figured out that solving it takes too long. So now she just pulls apart all the plugs and covers to get to the treats much quicker! It’s like she’s got her own clever little strategy!
If you’re looking for a loving companion who’s ready to explore and cuddle, I might just be the perfect fit for you! Let’s make some awesome memories together! 🐶❤️
Medical notes
Winnebago has some arthritis which will require ongoing medication to keep her comfortable.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
