About Marmaduke
Marmaduke's Journey to Rescue:
Marmaduke joined our village after finding himself in a hot rural pound. The conditions were harsh, and he was clearly struggling - anxious, thin, and not in the best of shape. But despite his rough start, Marmaduke's spirit remained unbroken.
Since arriving in our village, Marmaduke has been on an incredible journey of healing and growth. With each passing day, he settles in a little more, feeling safer and more at ease. A good diet has helped him gain much-needed weight, and as his physical health improves, his true personality shines through. Marmaduke is revealing himself to be a really affectionate boy. He'll gently nudge your hand with his head when he's wanting a pat or cuddle.
This is a boy of remarkable bravery. Despite the hardships of his past, Marmaduke is improving more and more with each single day. His progress is such a short time is such a wonderful thing to see. We just know that in a calm and loving home environment, he will truly be the best boy he can be.
Marmaduke deserves a future filled with comfort, joy, and endless affection. Let's continue Marmaduke's journey together and give him the happily ever after he
Marmadukes adoption fee includes him being desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatments. Marmaduke and all Village Tail cats are strictly indoor only :) If you are interested in meeting this sweet boy, please send us a message so we can organise a meet and greet with you :)
Medical notes
Marmaduke is FIV+
FIV is an autoimmune disease spread only through (and to) cats.
There is no ongoing medical costs, just a life of comfort and love. As the disease progresses, they can become more susceptible to infections and diseases and can suffer from longer recovery times. If they are kept indoors, this minimises the risk exponentially 💕
14-29% of Australian cats are FIV+
They aren’t often diagnosed unless they get sick. Most live the same happy and long lives as any other cat.
FIV isn’t a death sentence, it just means he needs good food, to be kept inside, and most importantly, have someone to love!
FIV can be vaccinated for and is primarily transmitted through bite wounds. This means infected cats can often live with another healthy, social cat with very minimal risk of infection.
FIV is a degenerative disease However, Infected cats will often live full, happy and healthy lives with very few complications.
It is best FIV cats are kept indoors. Keeping them inside not only stops them from passing on the disease to another cat, but also protects them from secondary diseases and infections that their immune system will struggle with.
