About Toula - in kennels
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
This senior girl is a smoochy 7 1/2-year-old Boxer x Staffy is full of love and devotion, making her the ultimate human companion. She’s incredibly affectionate with her people and loves nothing more than spending quality time with her favourite humans, whether it’s on a walk, playing in the yard, or cuddling up for some belly rubs. She loves her playtime and her age does not appear to have slowed her down.
Though she’s all about her humans, this sweet girl prefers to be the only pet in the household. She’s not a huge fan of cats or other dogs, and she’d thrive best in a home where she can be the center of attention, without the distractions of other animals. Her loyalty and love are more than enough to fill a home with happiness!
This Boxer x Staffy is energetic but also knows how to relax. She’ll be your perfect exercise partner on hikes or outdoor adventures, but when the day winds down, she’ll happily snuggle up for some quiet time. She’s well-mannered, house-trained, and eager to find a home that matches her spirited yet loving personality.
If you’re searching for a loyal, smoochy companion who will shower you with affection, this girl is waiting to meet you! She’s ready to be your one and only and can’t wait to find a forever home where she can give all the love she has. Come meet her today!
My Ideal Home:
Toula's ideal home would be with a someone looking for a loyal companion who is committed to her ongoing training and play. She will need to be welcomed into the family home with lots of love and affection, and daily belly rubs. She is comfortable as an inside and outside dog, and likes to sleep inside on her dog bed at night time.
Toula would suit a household where her family are home more often than not as she really loves to spend time with her humans, she is a big lap dog!
What is Known About My Background:
Toula was rescued from the pound with a litter of pups and has likely been used constantly for breeding over her lifetime. This has not dampened her enthusiasm for humans but has made her guarded around other dogs, likely due to her protective behaviour towards her puppies.
As our volunteer carers have other dogs, Toula is now waiting for her perfect match in kennels where she is being well looked after, however nothing is quite the same as her own home. All her puppies have found loving homes and her turn is well overdue.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
Toula is great with kids, although a bit jumpy and exuberant so would not suit a family with very small children, early teens who are confident and can handle and work on her manners would be ideal.
As noted earlier, Toula is currently reactive towards other dogs. Our volunteers are working on her reactivity and slowly seeing her accept the company of another submission calm walking companion after a lengthy period of exposure to that dog. It will take time and your patience if you want her to become a walking buddy in the vicinity of other dogs. Otherwise playtime in the yard with a ball and tug o war will bring her great joy.
Toula has a high prey drive and should not be rehomed to a family with cats.
Medical notes
