Nelson *On Trial*

*nelson is currently trialling his new home* we’re gobsmacked that lovely little nelson, who’s approximately 5 years of age, wasn’t collected by his owner when he ended up in our local pound so we had to step in and save this gorgeous gentleman!!! now nelson, who we named after one of our wonderful carers, is looking for a forever home where he’ll be loved and cherished and not have to worry about ever being left behind in a pound again…. . Nelson’s a very affectionate little chap who’s eager to take on all life has to offer. He is a friendly little guy who gets along well with other dogs and enjoys human companionship. Nelson is terrific with children though we haven’t tested him with cats though his carer says he’s not bothered at all by their goats. He is quite low-maintenance only needing a short walk (he walks well on the lead and loves getting out and about!) or a run around the backyard to use up his energy. Being a shih tzu/maltese blend nelson doesn’t shed much hair though he’ll require a good brush once a week and a clip a few times a year as required. Secure fencing, bones to chew on and toys to play with will make nelson very happy indeed!

you can’t really see it in his photos but he does have a slight “shih tzu” underbite which gives him character!!!

nelson would benefit from an inside / outside lifestyle with either a doggie friend for companionship or on his own but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially during his settling in period.
