Taffy

This precious little boy, rescued from the pound nearly a month ago, has had an absolutely terrible start to life. After contracting dermadex (skin condition) at only a couple of days old, this boy had most of his hair fall out, his skin crack and little sores on his legs and tummy. He had been suffering like this for months and no one cared to do a single thing about it, he almost looked part sharpei!

when this boy was found wandering the streets and taken to the pound, we initially said no to taking him in as a rescue boy because we wouldn't have been able to afford to put him through his eight week plus treatment he would have needed. I was approached by a member of the public who spotted him at the pound and just fell in love with him and seeing him nearly broke her heart. She got in contact with me and made a very generous offer to contribute towards his vet treatment needed but when the estimate came back, i think it was more than she expected. Because she sounded so upset, i decided that i would personally go halves with her in paying the cost to have taffy put through the treatment he needed, because this boy deserved a second chance!

four weeks into the treatment and this boy is really starting to come out of his shell and might i add, is looking a million dollars compared to when he first came in to care, he has started to get a thicker coat back after being almost bald and even has a little bit of a shine to his coat too!

he is your typical young dog now, just out to have fun and love his family as much as possible. He is finding it so great to run around silly (now that he can without being in pain) and just be a dog. He loves playing with other dogs, doesn't mind the cat, is crate trained, is learning to sit, stay and wait, and will go outside when told. He is pretty responsive but will need ongoing obedience training to keep his little boy manners in check haha. This boy has had one of the worst starts to life imaginable, and all he is looking for now is a brand new forever home and his own family to love him as much as he will love them. . . Which is a lot!!

taffy would like to be rehomed with another dog, but if he cant then a home where he will get lots of attention, love, socialising and walks, would be fine, then he will continue to be the happiest pup on earth!

taffy is still on treatment for another four weeks but people are still more than happy to come and meet him. With a heart as big as this boys, it wont take long for him to find a home. Call me to come a meet this sweetheart. Plus council rego if adopted into nsw
