About Sultan
A Velcro Dog. He sticks to you and everything sticks to him!
Say hello to this handsome boy, Sultan (or Salty for short)!
Sultan is a 4 year and 10-month-old Malshi (Maltese x Shih Tzu x Wiry Jack Russell), who came into care as a private surrender, through no fault of his own.
Since coming in to care Salty’s personality has shone through quickly. He is keen to please, wants to be with his people all the time.
Salty likes a walk but doesn’t like to go too far or too fast. Ideally regular short walks in the cooler parts of the day as he gets hot quickly.
He is currently living with other small breed dogs and loves to rumble and play chase but he is just as happy asleep on the sofa with his head on a human’s lap. He would be equally as happy with another dog for company or as an only dog but would prefer not to be left for long periods.
He has learnt to use the dog door quickly but is not interested to learn about sleeping in a dog bed. He will need to be allowed to sleep on your bed with you.
He is toilet trained but needs to be reminded to go outside regularly and may have some accidents when he is new to your house. He would suit living inside with access to outside whenever he wants and would not cope as a dog expected to spend long periods outside.
Salty is comfortable with kids but can be frightened if they are noisy or surprise him so would suit a family with slightly older children (we are thinking 10 years old and over). He would also suit a home without kids where he can be the centre of attention!
Salty has a coat that will require regular grooming and brushing. It had to be cut very short due to matting when he came in to care, however this has shown us his lovely pot belly pig spots! He is happy to be brushed and shaved.
Salty is fine with cats.
Have you got a salty sized whole in your life? If so then this beautiful little man could be perfect for you…

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
