About Fox
Meet Fox, a truly remarkable cat with a heartwarming story of resilience and love. When he first came into care, he was a bit afraid and nursing an injured hip, but over time, his courage and trust in humans have grown in leaps and bounds. Today, Fox is as loving as they come, displaying a fondness for people that makes him an extraordinary companion. This little guy has been lovingly raised around kids and has shown a wonderful rapport with school-age children, making him the perfect addition to a family with slightly older kids.
Fox is super affectionate and cherishes every moment of snuggle time, always eager to curl up in a welcoming lap and soak in all the love and attention he can get. His eyes will light up as he gleefully explores his scratching trees, and gazing out the windows provides him endless entertainment. He is not only a people-cat but also enjoys the company of other cats. His adaptable nature shines through as he comfortably coexists with calm-natured dogs, making him an ideal fit for a multi-pet household. Fox's pleasant blend of affection, sociability, and independence is sure to bring happiness and warmth to his future family.
For Fox, his future requires a little extra care due to his hip injury (read more in medical notes), so it's essential to find a financially secure and dedicated family willing to cater to his ongoing medical needs. In return for this loving commitment, Fox promises to fill your home with boundless affection, companionship, and a special kind of joy only a kitty with his unique beginnings can provide. Fox is ready to become an integral and cherished part of a family that appreciates the gentle and loving spirit he brings.
Please note Fox is STRICTLY indoor only cat.
Medical notes
Diagnoses from the CT scan done show that Fox has a condition in
his left hip we suspect to be avascular necrosis of the femoral head -
this often needs excision of the head of the femur when the cat gets
older and the growth plates close. Currently Fox is not in pain so his condition is being monitored and surgery may be needed down the track. The surgery to remove the head and neck of the femur costs approximately
$1500 with our vets (this will vary between vet practitioners)
cats tend to tolerate the surgery quite well when all healed after a few weeks. The latest xray done however suggests
that the condition has improved. Our vet has suggested to hold off on any consideration
about surgery for the time being and reassess his mobility in about 6
months.
Please note our vet is happy to talk to adopters and we can provide his medical history
