About Alicia
Since arriving in foster care, Alicia’s tail has not stopped wagging! After all, what’s not to love about this new life? Starting with delicious freedom nuggets, it’s been non-stop good times; long sniffy walks, soft beds to roach in, squeaky toys to play with, and best of all so many humans to meet and demand cuddles and fuss, what a joy.
Alicia is not fazed by much. Traffic noise, thunder, and stairs are no issues for her! She can leap in and out of cars with no dramas and doesn’t mind being brushed or having her nails clipped. She handles the hustle and bustle of the Farmer’s Market, and adores greeting all the visitors (who obviously have come to see her specifically, in her opinion). She can be a bit unsure about dogs who bark at her, they seem best avoided in her opinion, and she can be a bit too excited by small fluffy dogs so we wouldn’t recommend a home where she will have regular contact with them.
While Alicia shares her foster home with a resident male greyhound, she would need a calm and tolerant dog in her forever home as she can be a bit bossy and doesn’t have manners when it comes to pushing in to get her share of the human attention, ensuring she has the best spot on the bed, and even helping herself to her siblings toys. Alternatively she would happily be an only dog in a home where her humans were around more often than not.
As an older girl, Alicia does have some pannus and doesn’t mind her twice daily eye drops, she does not appear to have any vision impairment and easily navigates obstacles (and finds dropped treats with ease!). She also has a floating rib but this requires no treatment and does not bother her any.
Alicia is truly the embodiment of joy, and although she is a senior snoot, she is not ready to slow down any time soon - and hopes to find a forever home that will embrace all the moments of happiness to be found in every day, just as she does!
No small dogs or cats
No children under six
No full time workers unless a mix of working from home, dog walker or going to the office. Ideally not to left home alone for more than fours hours on a regular bisis.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
