About Romeo
🥰 Romeo 🥰
HOUSEHOLD- We may be missing the other 100 but did you spot our lovely boy Romeo?
This big boy is a bundle of energy and is looking for a dog experienced owner who has the time to spend with him because he LOVES to be with his people as often as possible. He could suit a variety of family settings including singles, couples or families and thus far has shown us no concerning behaviour towards children except for his puppy exuberance when excited that may lead to an accidental knock over of smaller children.
ON-GOING TRAINING- Romeo has the potential to learn anything you want him to but he can be very easily distracted and stubborn when no food treats are supplied. He will need time and patience from his new owners to build his skill set and get him on the right path for an on-going training journey.
PLAY/TOYS- Romeo enjoys short games of Tug’O’War and Fetch but becomes easily distracted and tends to leave his toys behind. He prefers to explore his area or interact with his handler instigating rumbling and jumping around if allowed to do so.
OTHER DOGS- Romeo is finding his feet with fellow canines. He is young and keen to introduce himself but doesn’t quite always understand what to do and when. He loves a good running race or rumble and would be suitable to live as a solo canine or with other well-socialised canine friends. It just needs to be mentioned that when he gets excited, he does tend to hump his fellow playmates and some dogs may not like this. He has since been desexed and it is hoping that this behaviour will decrease with time. If you were hoping to visit any dog beaches or parks we would recommend postponing your trip until he is abit older, has bonded with his new family and feels more comfortable with his recall commands.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- Romeo has shown minimal interest in cats or other small animals such as guinea pigs. He appears suitable to live with them but supervision and the possibility of separate living areas would always be recommended.
GROOMING/NUTRITION- Romeo has a lovely short coat and he will require weekly baths, weekly brushing and monthly nail clips. He is still growing and will be best kept on a puppy diet until he is approximately 1yr old. He has been eating well and showing no signs of food sensitivities so far but requires 1-3 meals daily to keep up with his bodies needs.
EXERCISE/ON LEAD- Romeo will need 1-2 walks/runs daily as well as games in the backyard. He can be excited on lead and pulls quite hard when he wants to get to something but otherwise walks well and doesn’t wander too far.
BREED- Dalmatian DOB 6/3/24
Romeo is located at our Erina Shelter. His $600 adoption fee covers microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
If you think gorgeous Romeo would thrive in your household, please lodge your interest.
