About Meg Kumara
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/adopt/
Meg is a love bug - sweet natured and full of happiness and affection.
She loves attention and has the most adorable helicopter tail wag when
you pat her.
This sweetheart has settled beautifully into our care. She is sharing
her foster family with a big mastiff cross and they became best friends
instantly. Meg also gets on well with any dogs met on walks and reads
their energy well, respecting their boundaries. She does enjoy the odd
shoe, but she just seems to like to carry them places and leave them
there. She loves a good run around the garden with her toys.
Meg definitely has energy, but two good 30 minute walks a day and a bit
of playing and she sleeps the rest of the day away. She pulls a little
on leash but that is also improving. If Meg is nervous of anything on
her walk she will come back closer to you to check in. We have found her
to be a bit reactive on lead, but don't believe it is aggression, more a
case of over-excitement but we are working with Meg on this. Meg has
displayed a little separation anxiety, but the longer she is with her
foster family the better that seems to be. She is more nervous around
men when she first meets them but warms up very quickly once she feels
safe. This clever girl is a quick learner, house trained and will sit
when asked.
At this stage we believe Meg will do well in any home, but would prefer
sharing her family with another doggy companion. When Meg looks up at
you it's like she's sending you all the love in the world. Will Meg get
to share all her cuddles with you?
Meg is untested with cats.
Please note: our dogs are not available for interstate adoption. We also do not adopt to people under the age of 25 years.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.
