Toby has been with us since he was three months old and we know him
well. He is a sweet but active boy who would love a friend to play
with. His only bad habit is mouthing. We've stopped him nipping but
still working on this.
Toby is the biggest snuggle bum in history. He likes nothing more than
to curl up on your lap, at your feet, or on another dog. He does nothing
by half, so when playing it's at a million miles an hour, and when its
napping, his little tongue pokes out and there's no disturbing him. When
he lays down or stretches he groans like the weight of the world is
coming off his shoulders.
He's mastered sit, shake and stay really quickly and is very food
motivated.
Toby loves people. Regardless of what he's doing if he hears his name he
will come racing to you to see what's happening. He's the first to greet
you when you get home.
He lets you know that he's a bit unsure by making a beeline to you and
getting as close as possible. But mostly he's just a happy little guy.
You can tell his level of excitement from how fast his tail is wagging -
peak happiness sees his whole body wiggle and his tail turn into a
propeller.
Toby has spent the majority of his time with other dogs as companions so
would be great for him to go somewhere that has a friend for him, but
given his level of love for people he might be ok with an active family. He is pretty full on though so would need a (tolerant) puppy friend and/or a family that can match his energy. He's very interested in the cats but won't go near them unless he's got a mate for back up, then bolts if the cat moves.
Does bark a bit at other dogs but only playfully.
While you’re here – be sure to check out Toby’s sibling Star.
Please note: our dogs are not available for interstate adoption. We also do not adopt to people under the age of 25 years.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.
