Meet Checkers, you may not want to actually be playing a game of checkers as he’ll probably knock the entire game over and spill all the pieces. He is the KING of rough and tumble and is always up for a game of tug of war.

He loves playing and the rougher the better, we are working on that but would benefit from an older dog to guide him with appropriate play or a person with strong boundaries.

He is probably not suitable for small children under 5 as he does get very excited. He is likely to win the future zoomies championships.

His mum is a Chihuahua X and his dad is a Jack Russell X. His is gorgeous black and tan with white chest. He also has those adorable floppy ears.

Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I’d like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I’ve learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I’ll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me “no” if I’m chewing something I shouldn’t and give me a chew toy instead. I’d love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don’t get bored with them.

 
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!

Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations, because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth.
