Meet Hugo, an endearing blend of Kelpie and Dachshund! This charming 6-year-old gentleman is searching for a loving new family to share his playful adventures with. Residing in Murrumba Downs, QLD, Hugo is a well-mannered, toilet-trained pup who has been vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, and wormed, ensuring he's in great health and ready to join your household.
Hugo is a delightful mix of gentle and playful energy, making him a fantastic companion for families with children. His excitement when meeting new people can lead to a bit of jumping around, but he quickly settles down as the atmosphere calms. He loves playing indoors with his family while relaxing outside when his people are away. At night, he sleeps comfortably in a separate garage room, ensuring sweet dreams until dawn.
While always a good boy at heart, Hugo is rather sneaky when it comes to food, so you'll need to keep an eye on this admitted gourmand! Hugo thrives in a secure backyard with a 1.5m-high fence, where he can safely explore and play to his heart's content. Though he adores canine companions, he's not overly fond of cats, making him a better fit for a cat-free household.
Able to fit seamlessly into an indoor and outdoor lifestyle, Hugo is the perfect dog for a family that appreciates and can provide an energetic, attentive, and loving environment. His adoption fee is $495. If Hugo sounds like the four-legged friend you've been waiting for, don't hesitate to bring this lovable sneak into your life!

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee. This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
