On Hold
Toilet Paper Roll 18 (TP) came into care after being released as a wedding/funeral dove. A lot of people believe that all releases return to their home, however up to 60% get lost, hurt, or killed during the journey.
TP was apart of that 60%.
After trying her best to get home, she was presumably attacked by a bird of prey, an easy target because of her white feather’s and domestication, and found herself in someone’s backyard with a catastrophic chest injury, asking for help.
TP’s experiences with people have been unpleasant so far, first being released and then having to be handled for dressing changes and administration pain relief and antibiotics. So she is a shier bird looking for a safe space to decompress and trust humans. ❤️
Currently recovering from chest injury- no long term affects.
