Meet Ghost,
About: Ghost is a friendly & happy boy best suited to people with dog ownership/breed experience. Even if you don't have husky experience, Ghost is a great dog for those who want to get husky experience. Ghost is playful & affectionate & over a very easy-going dog. He is super smart & highly trainable and would make any owner proud to call them theirs. He loves to engage with his human & doggo friends & is just a really lovely dog.
Ghost is best suited to a calm & quiet home. Ghost is very quiet; we are yet to even hear him bark or make any noise at all! Ghost is a gentle dog & would prefer a less rowdy house. Having said this, Ghost would also be an excellent choice for active people. He would make an excellent adventure buddy as he is excitable & social.
Ideal Home: Ghost is best suited to live in a standalone house or a farm/acerage, with a medium to large yard & high, secure fencing.
Access inside would be great for Ghost so he can spend time with his new family, but he will also be content outside as well where can is able to explore & do his own thing.
Family: Ghost is open to meet kids of any age & is fine to live with people who work part-time hours.
Furry Friends: Ghost is open to meet dogs. During his dog assessment he had loose body language and was excited to meet the other dog. There were respectful sniffs, play bows & zoomies exchanged between both dogs.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Ghost would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Ghost would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Ans group classes to ensure that the dog social skills he already has don’t get stale.
Ghost knows his name and he also knows commands like ‘sit’ & 'down' - and he is keen to learn more. Ghost is food motivated, and when he takes a treat that is offered to him he will often take it form you gently too, so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea. Ghost used to jump a lot but just after a few training sessions he has already unlearned that behaviour - which highlights how smart, trainable & willing he is to learn more.
With further training Ghost could be the type of dog that you could take to a dog friendly café or social setting.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Ghost has mid-range energy levels and would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 30-60mins a day to keep him happy & content. Ghost is not interested in playing with toys, he much personal play or training with his friends.
Ghost walks well on lead with minimal pulling & he is fine to be walked on a lead & collar or harness.
Staff Comments: Ghost is super affectionate & he loves people. He is the perfect companion for someone looking for a cuddle bug. He is food motivated & highly trainable. He is willing to learn and tries his best to be the bestest boy.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
