About Charlie
Please meet our new awesome boy, Charlie.
Charlie had a very close shave with his life recently and the unfortunate result was the amputation of his left, hind leg. He's back to enjoying life, however his owner could no longer keep him and he came to the RSPCA shelter seeking another loving home. Fortunately, Charlie is a very friendly, affectionate fellow and this will help Charlie charm his way into his new human's life.
CARE - Charlie is in good health and with loving care from his new companion and a nutritious diet, he has many wonderful years ahead of him. A nutritious diet is one with high-quality dry biscuits, delicious servings of wet food and many bowls of fresh, cool water to maintain his hydration. Charlie does require some special needs due to him having three legs :- preferably very few stairs, maintenance of a healthy weight, floors that aren't too slippery that he could easily lose his balance, cat scratchers etc. that are a low level for him as jumping from heights could cause injury, and an inside only lifestyle.
HOME - due to his quiet nature and age, Charlie would benefit from a "launch room" to help him feel comfortable in his new home. Also a calm, mature home would suit him best. Any children would be older ones (over 12 years), who would respect his needs. As Charlie has not had any past experiences with other cats or dogs, it is recommended that he be the only fur-baby in the household.
ENVIRONMENT - an indoor lifestyle for Charlie is a must as outside isn't a safe place due to him losing a lot of dexterity in his movements. There are also many dangers outdoors that will shorten his life. Inside his home, low-set cat scratcher trees would give Charlie lots of enjoyment and exercise, especially if they are placed near a window and also where his human companions gather. Please come and meet our Charlie. Purr.
