About Winnie

Kids (any age)

Meet Winnie,
Winnie is a special girl who was very loved by her previous owners. They made the difficult decision to surrender her to us due to personal reasons. But, they were able to leave us with an arsenal of information about lovely Winnie, her breed & background & so much more, just so that we can find her a new home where she will be just as loved.
Winnie is a loving & protective bunny who brings joy & is delightful company to her family. She is a usually quiet bun, who allows handling & being picked up. In saying that she is also independent, can be vocal & will let you know when she does not want to be patted or picked up. When picking her up just make sure you support her little bottom and be mindful of her hind legs. Once settled, she’ll cuddle into you. Winnie doesn’t have to be picked up though, she’ll happily have all four paws on the ground, and she’ll come to you when she wants a cuddle (or two). Winnie likes to explore her surrounds which is evident of her being a free roaming house bunny.
Winnie loves back scratches & gentle pats between her ears.
Winnie is suitable for any home environment & she is also open to meet kids of any age too providing that they are understanding of how special bunnies are. It's important to note that rabbits are often curious & cautious by nature so Winnie is looking for a home with a family who will love her & make her feel like part of the family. Winnie has lived her entire life as an indoor, free roam bunny.
Winnie will also need access to fresh clean water, an assortment of toys to chew on & play with and fresh food daily. Winnie has a lovely playful side, while she has been in our care we have watched her play with her toys & she is particularly fond of a plastic rattle barrel which she will happily shake & throw around her hutch. Winnie is also a very smart girl, and knows a few tricks such as "up", "paws" & "twirl".
Winnie loves music is known to flop on the floor & listen to her favourite tunes with consist of acoustic guitars & piano pieces being played to her. Some of Winnie’s favourite songs include:
* 'Isn't She Lovely' by Stevie Wonder (acoustic)
* Bach Double Violin Concerto (classical),
* 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' by Tommy Emmanuel
* Chopin's 'Fantaisie Impromptu- by Daniil Trifonov
* 'Fly Me To The Moon' by Seiji Igusa
Some of Winnie's favourite foods include lettuce, spinach, carrot & Little Gem Treats which can be purchased from your local Woolies.
Winnie is recently litter trained, but it's best to show her where the litter tray is when you get home to minimise any accidents. If you'd like to continue her house training, it would be good having multiple litter trays available for her to use.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Winnie would go living with dogs or cats - this would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Can you open your heart and home to a sweet, playful bunny like Winnie?

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
