About Silas
Say hello to Silas, the biggest foodie you are ever likely to meet! Silas loves food and the simple life.
This charming boy had a pretty good gig being fed by the human community in his neighbourhood, and that is just how he likes it.
He is friendly and affectionate, and while Silas has embraced home life with open paws, yet he retains a love for outdoor freedom reminiscent of his neighbourhood days. With his athletic prowess, watch him chase a ball or pounce on a laser pointer with grace and enthusiasm.
His ideal lifestyle is that of a working barn cat, where he can flourish in a balanced indoor and outdoor setting. A barn or farm environment would be perfect for him as Silas would love nothing more than the excitement of chasing mice or rats, ensuring your barn is free of small critters.
Being a resolute gourmand, Silas relishes every meal. His dream day would include three hearty meals and snacks in between. Meal prep is no joking matter for this cat - he's known to display his anticipation with impatience.
It's not just his food drive that makes Silas exceptional; his stalking skills mirror that of his ancestral, wild relatives. Offering him freedom to explore and hunt his own food while supplementing with regular meals keeps him happy and healthy.
Silas would be perfectly happy as a solo cat, soaking up all the love you can give, but he would be just as happy sharing a barn with other cats.
One important thing to note - He does not like his tail being touched. He will react with a hiss, growl or nip so best to avoid this part of his body.
All he needs is a dry, warm shelter, supplemental food (big bag provided at adoption to get you started) and 6-monthly worm treatments crushed into his food, to treat him for parasites (approx $20).
