Hi, my name is Astra and I am out-of-this-world cool!

I like to spend my days hanging out with my human family getting lots of attention and playtime, I might benefit from another cockatiel friend in the home as well.

I am very friendly with humans but to keep my confidence up and my behavior calm you will need to be very careful to treat me with love and respect. Birds can startle easily and things like loud dogs, people invading my space when I am tired or not in the mood or being handled roughly can cause me to stress and then I won't be friendly anymore. I will need consistent attention and love to keep me happy and content. And I would like to live in the house with you, not in an aviary outside.

To keep me healthy and my feathers shiny I will need a good diet of fresh veggies and high-quality small parrot or Peachface seed mix. I will also appreciate if you try and introduce me to small parrot pellets as these are healthier than seed - but don't force me, I might stop eating because it can take a long time to teach birds new behaviors and to try new things.

Cockatiels are very intelligent and make entertaining companions - they are a big commitment because they can live up to 30 years but with the right care, they are a loyal friend for life.
