About Bruce - Assisted Rehome
Meet Bruce, a one-year-old smart, high-energy Kelpie x Border Collie mix who is bursting with energy and enthusiasm. This intelligent, young dog is looking for an active and dedicated family who will make him part of their home.
For most of his life, he has not received the devotion, attention, and training he deserved. His first year of life has seen him left in a garden, without much stimulation or training. More recently, he has be taken into a loving family, where he is learning social behaviours, following commands, and being able to relax in a home environment. He has been responding extremely well to his intensive training and he is coming along in leaps and bounds.
However, because of his high energy level, he is not suitable for a home with children younger than 12 years.
The commands that he currently knows are:
Responding to his name (Bruce)
Come
Sit
Down
Paw/Other Paw
Turn
Wait (he is very good at patiently waiting when leaving the house)
Walking beside you (in a quiet environment)
He is also crate trained
Bruce loves learning new tricks, which makes him very good company, especially if you are looking for a dog as your companion that you can give your attention to. He is a big fan of water and loves to play ball or do tricks for you. He thrives when he has that 1:1 engagement. Bruce is not a fan of buses, motorbikes and e-bikes. He likes riding in the car, he is calm and lays down.
We love Bruce and we are so proud of the amazing progress he has made, but he still requires further training and a lot of attention.
He has played with a smaller dog and does not show any aggression. He has been introduced to the dogpark and learning to be more confident and has met already many dogs and also does not show any aggression. However, we have kept him away from cats and other small animals for now as his energy levels are always high and he hasn't learnt to calm himself and remain controlled when surrounded by stimulus.
For these reasons, Bruce is not a dog for beginners.
If you have experience with a working-breed dog, and know what to expect as well as well as being able to devote your time to his continued training: Bruce is a super, loving dog, and will be a loyal buddy for life."
Bruce is currently residing in Many Vale NSW and available for a meet and greet.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
