About Brandy
This sweet girl goes by the name of Brandy and sweet she is! If you are looking for an extremely loyal dog who will just slot into your home like she’s always been there, then Brandy may be your girl. Brandy came to us from a rural NSW pound. She was surrendered due to the housing crisis and then spent a few months behind bars, but she hasn’t missed a step and has been the absolute perfect house guest in foster care while she prepares for her forever family.
Brandy is exceptionally loyal and attached to her foster carers. She is low maintenance and as long as she gets some couch cuddles and belly rubs, she will happily snooze the day away at your feet while you work. She is friendly and exceptionally gentle with everyone she meets, and while she can take a few minutes to fully warm up to new people, once she has warmed up, she wants all the pats, love and hugs she can get. Due to being in the second half of her life, even though she is fine being left home alone we are really looking for a home where people are home most of the time so she can get all the attention she deserves. Plus, she has proven to be the perfect work from home colleague!
Brandy is currently in care with another senior dog and the pair coexist lovely with each other. She is social when meeting other dogs and happy to say hi, but she probably wouldn’t want to live full time with a young whipper snipper pestering her to play 24/7. Brandy probably isn’t going to be a dog who enjoys romping around the dog park due to her age and slightly more reserved nature, but is more than happy to have play dates with friends dogs and say hello to dogs on her daily walks. We feel she would be fine as an only dog if her owners are home most of the time, particularly while she settles in. But we see that living with another dog with a similar easy going temperament and energy level would be probably be the perfect fit.
While she is just over 8 years old and generally a very calm and relaxed dog, she absolutely loves her daily walks and has easily been keeping up with the foster carer’s usual 1.5 hour morning stroll, but is equally happy to do a quick 20 minute blocky when the carers have a busy day. She has enjoyed scenic walks through the parks and along the beaches in the Sydney environment without fuss. She has also enjoyed quieter bushwalks and strolls in the suburbs. Brandy would love a home where she gets a good daily outing and can look forward to many fun adventures. She some good basic training behind her, but her natural demeanour means she is a joy to have around the home and to take out and about. She travels really well in the car, is toilet trained and sleeps through the night on her bed downstairs. Her current foster carer says she is the easiest dog they have ever had in care!
While she may be entering her senior years, Brandy is in good health. She weighs 25.5kg (but could lose a couple of kgs which her foster carers have begun aiding!). Her blood results were good, and the vet found no other health concerns. Her nose had a sore on it on arrival to care, which after a few weeks of observations the vet put down to rubbing against the kennel door at the pound. We would love her new owners to put her on some sort of joint supplement due to her age, but the vets said her joints feel good for her age. Brandy will require a home who can provide her a good quality diet and keep her fit and healthy.
Brandy will suit a range of homes as she is just an easy going, sweet lady who only yearns for some love in return. We are looking for a more relaxed home life for her, but still one where she will be an integral member of the family and included in the daily outings. Brandy will need to be allowed inside with her family, especially at night to sleep and have lots of comfy beds or couches to choose from.
Everyone who meets Brandy absolutely falls in love with her innocence, loyalty and affections. She’s the type of dog that doesn’t want for much but gives so much back in return. Brandy will make the perfect addition to a family who are looking for their soul dog as she really is just that special. If you are wanting to make Brandy a member of your family and look forward to many years of cuddles and adventure, then fill out a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience and the type of lifestyle Brandy could look forward to enjoying with you.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
