About Winnie
Winnie, the 18 month old JRT cross staffy, is an incredibly special dog who has won the hearts of staff at BARC.
The only thing Winnie loves more than pats is a conversation - she just wants to keep you engaged. Winnie will grumble every time she rolls over, will groan with every stretch, and will mumble 'thankyou' with every belly rub, and "don't stop" with every head massage... she is quite the quirky girl!
Like many dogs, Winnie will benefit from a home with a routine so to provide her predictability and structure. Winnie finds a calm environment is the best for her to learn and relax in, and she much prefers calm walks though the bush and hanging out in the staff office, than spending time in the boisterous puppy-play groups at BARC.
Winnie does love the company of other calm dogs and would benefit from another dog in the house, especially an older mature dog to lead the way. However, she would be just as happy as an only child as that means more pats for her, right?
Winnie has also lived with kids the age of 4 and up.
Winnie is truly a sweetheart, and one you will easily fall in love with. Winnie is available to be adopted form our shelter, but is also available for Foster-To-Adopt for residents of Bendigo should they wish to see if Winnie will be a good fit in their lives.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
