About Coco, Custard, and Labrador
Adoption Donation: $450 each steer. Donation is not a set amount. Forever homes are our priority.
Cattle raised for beef often live short lives, sent to the slaughterhouse at just 18-24 months old—only a small fraction of their natural lifespan of 15-20 years. The stress for these animals begins long before they arrive at the slaughterhouse. From the moment they are mustered, yarded, and loaded onto transport, they endure fear and anxiety. Often deprived of food and water, they are forced to travel long distances, sometimes hundreds or thousands of kilometres, to meet their tragic fate. 💔
Coco, Custard, and Labrador, born as part of a beef herd, narrowly escaped this unimaginable fate. When their property was sold, the rest of their herd was sent to slaughter, but a compassionate member of the public couldn’t bear to see them face the same end. Desperate to save them, they reached out to us, and now these three lucky boys are safe in foster care and ready for their forever home.
• 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐝 is the friendliest of the trio, while 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 are a bit more shy. All three are gentle, though not overly friendly due to their limited human interaction in the past. However, they are approachable and can be hand-fed treats and patted.
𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬:
• 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐭: Pasture and round hay bales. They are also starting to enjoy bread.
• 𝐍𝐋𝐈𝐒: All three are NLIS tagged.
• 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Assistance with transportation is offered and will be arranged upon adoption application approval.
𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
• A property with strong, secure fencing.
• Plenty of pasture and hay to meet their dietary needs.
• Patience and understanding—they are not cuddle companions, but they are gentle and can warm up with treats and positive interactions.
If you believe you can offer these sweet boys a forever home, please reach out for more information. 💙🫶
