About Loki STK012967
Meet Loki, an absolute sweetheart with a heart full of love to share. This affectionate feline is ready to find a new family who can appreciate the beauty of his gentle and playful nature. With every purr and snuggle, Loki fills your home with warmth and joy.
Loki has a special gift for playfulness that will light up your days. He enjoys toys and loves play sessions, which keep him happy and healthy. His sociable personality means he is fine with other feline friends, making him a great companion for a multi-cat household.
Due to a Heart Murmur graded 4-5, Loki needs to live indoors exclusively. He requires understanding and a bit of extra care by way of vet check-ups, one of our Vets will explain in detail his Heart Murmur to his new family to ensure that he receives the best care possible.
Medical notes
Heart Murmur Grade - 4-5/6
During routine examinations at CPS, a heart murmur was detected.
A ultrasound of his heart was performed and it was found that there was a membrane near his aortic valve (on the left hand side of his heart). This membrane is causing turbulent blood flow (the murmur auscultated), causing an issue with blood flow through the mitral valve. These changes are thought to be congenital and likely to progress over time.
Currently there is no surgery or medication that can fix this abnormality in the heart. We would recommend to continue monitoring Loki's heart with serial echocardiography in 6 months time to re-evaluate how he is going.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
