About Clover - 8 Week Old Kelpie X (Trial)
Introducing Clover, our charming 8-week-old male Kelpie cross puppy. This fluff ball would like you to know that his captivating looks are just the beginning of his charm! Sporting a glorious tri-colour Collie coat, this distinguished young man delights in channelling his working dog heritage and zooming around his siblings with great enthusiasm. However, his playful antics are all put well aside when it comes to his number 1 favourite pastime…napping. After a spirited play session, Clover loves to snuggle up and catch some Z’s, often seeking the warmth and comfort of his carers or siblings. This affectionate pup is a true sweetheart and has no objections to being carried around, wrapped in his carer's jumper like a cosy little baby. Clover’s gentle nature will make him an ideal companion for families or individuals looking for a loving and loyal friend.
Clover has been raised by loving foster carers in a home environment, and tends to capture hearts everywhere he goes. His gentle nature serves him well with dogs of all sizes, and he is known to just roll over and soak up the licks and love of any dog he meets. He has shown no fuss when it comes to cats or birds, and is often the last to know if they are near. He is a playful but gentle puppy who showed his soft nature when taken camping with his carers, where after a bout of the zoomies, he slept very peacefully in the sun or on a lap.
Clover will grow up to be a medium/large dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. As he is a mixed working breed dog, Clover will grow into a highly intelligent and energetic boy and will require a family who is able to cater to this by taking him for regular walks and ensuring his enrichment needs are met at home.
As Clover is so young, he would benefit immensely from having a confident and calm dog friend at home to help guide him as he grows. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone at home with him all day, making sure he is the centre of their world.
Clover needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He needs to be kept nice and warm, and would love a comfy bed with soft toys and blankets to nestle into. He is already showing some promise with toilet training and with consistent access to the outdoors, he has very few accidents indoors.
Clover will be an excellent family dog and with the right training, socialisation and enrichment, he will be suitable for families with children of any age. You will need good fencing with no small gaps and it must be at least 6ft tall. He can't go to any properties which have rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Clover’s siblings, Basil, Chilli, Chai, Jammy, Oreo, Salt, and Pepper, are also available for adoption and would love to meet their forever families.
Clover’s adoption fee is $700 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Clover is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
