Creed

Hi my name is Creed. I got my name because when I first came into rescue, I was scared. I wanted to fight everyone and everything, I used to bite, hiss, scratch and growl at anyone who came near me. The people that had me when i was little were not very nice to me and they left me and my family outside on a small cage with no food or water in the rain. They let their kids pick me up and throw me around too, so i was used to defending myself. I have now learnt that I can be friends with humans and that I don’t have to do all of the things I did before. I still get scared sometimes when it’s too noisy or you move too quickly, and sometimes I just want to be left alone and will hiss you, but I do like being around you and in your space. It will take me a little while to get used to your smell and your routines, and even though I might be hiding somewhere, I’m not far away and am just watching you from a safe distance.
I would love a home that will let me learn that you are safe too and won’t pressure me to be someone that I’m not before I’m ready. In return I will sit on the couch with you, let you give me pats and we can learn together what we both do and don’t like.
I need a home with no children - they still scare me and I don’t think that will change. I don’t mind dogs but I prefer my own space away from them.
Please give me a chance to show you that I can love living with you; I will one day be the lap cat I know I can be. I’m still working on that part.
