About Pepper - 8 Week Old Kelpie X (Trial)
Meet Pepper, an enchanting 8-week-old female kelpie cross puppy! With her striking grey coat accentuated by her adorable tan socks, she’s sure to catch your eye! Her perky ears stand proudly upright, and she draws you straight in with her captivating blue-green eyes.
Pepper is an inquisitive little adventurer who keeps a watchful eye on everything happening around her, making her the perfect little guardian for her siblings. Nothing escapes her notice! Fearless and spirited, she’s not shy about challenging her much larger foster siblings to playtime, often tugging on their ears and tails or growling at them, to show everyone just how strong she can be! But don’t let her playful bravado fool you—Pepper has a soft side, too. She adores cuddling with her foster carers and finds that climbing into their shirts for a warm snuggle is the ultimate treat. This little dynamo combines playful energy with heartfelt affection, making her a delightful addition to any home.
Pepper has been raised by loving foster carers in a home environment, and has shown her confidence with every dog she has met. She loves a good play and coaxes all her human friends into a game or two. She has shown some tendencies towards chasing birds and cats, and tends to bark and lunge towards any near her pen. Pepper is a very inquisitive puppy who loves going on adventures, and she thoroughly enjoyed outwitting her carers by running in unsuspecting directions while camping.
Pepper will grow up to be a medium/large dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. As she is a mixed working breed dog, Pepper is already showing that she is an intelligent and very energetic girl and will require a family who is able to cater to this by taking her for regular walks and ensuring her enrichment needs are met at home. She would love to be a part of every adventure your family goes on.
As Pepper is so young, she would benefit immensely from having a confident and calm dog friend at home to help guide her as she grows. If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone at home with her all day, making sure she is the centre of their world.
Pepper needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. She needs to be kept nice and warm, and would love a comfy bed with soft toys and blankets to nestle into. She has already shown her carers that she is excellent with toilet training and with consistent access to the outdoors, she has very few accidents indoors.
Pepper will be a lovely family dog and with the right training, socialisation and enrichment, she will be suitable for families with children of any age. You will need good fencing with no small gaps and it must be at least 6ft tall. She can't go to any properties which have rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire). Pepper has also shown she is a very skilled climber, and for this reason her forever family will need to ensure that all fences and gates are climb-proof.
Pepper’s siblings, Chai, Basil, Chilli, Jammy, Oreo, Clover, and Salt, are also available for adoption and would love to meet their forever families.
Pepper’s adoption fee is $700 which includes her desexing when she is old enough. It also includes her first two vaccinations. She has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Pepper is in foster care in Stroud, NSW. Since she is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. She’ll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when she's 5 to 6 months old.
