About Rex
Rex is a fun-loving, beach enthusiast who adores playing in the waves and running off-lead with other dogs. He’s a total cuddle bug and loves snuggling up in bed or on the couch. One of his favorite pastimes is teasing his brother Tux (who will also be made available for adoption soon) by chewing on toys to get him to play, and he’s even been known to help "round up" the chickens! Rex is also great with babies, always checking on them when they cry or wake up.
While Rex has many lovable traits, he does have a few sensitivities. He’s not a fan of loud noises like door slams, thunder, fireworks, or power tools, and he can get car sick on long rides. He can seem reactive to other dogs when on a lead, but once he's off, he gets along and plays happily with them. He was diagnosed with epilepsy recently and this is being managed well with daily medication and has caused no concerns.
Rex had a broken leg as a puppy, so he can't handle too much strenuous exercise and might be sore after a long run at the beach. He loves backyard play sessions, especially chasing Tux when toys are involved. Rex is very gentle with food, knows commands like sit, shake, high five, and lay down, and waits patiently until he's told to 'eat'.
Due to Rex’s personality he would work well in a single-dog household or with another calm dog. He’s a gentle, sweet soul who would thrive with a family who can handle his quirks and give him lots of love and beach time!-
