About Jammy - 8 Week Old Kelpie X (Trial)
Looking for the sweetest little man to join your family? Look no further! Come and meet Jammy, our absolutely beautiful 8-week-old, Kelpie cross boy who wants nothing more than endless cuddles and buckets of love! The smallest in his litter, Jammy’s gentle nature and big brown eyes have been known to make everyone he meets gooey inside. Jammy has a tendency to spend a lot of time on his back, teeny paws to the sky, receiving as many belly rubs as possible. But never fear… when he does roll over he will show you just how gorgeous his soft, black and tan coat is!
Despite his smaller size and gentle nature, this boy does not lack in the fun department. He is more than happy to join in on any mischief afoot and will regularly instigate a wrestling session with those much bigger than him! This little man will be the perfect match for owners looking for a fun love-bug they can take everywhere with them.
Jammy has been raised by loving foster carers in a home environment, and melts hearts everywhere he goes. His cuddly demeanour could trick you into thinking he wasn’t a fan of big dogs, but in fact it is entirely the opposite. He wants nothing more than to cuddle up to this older foster siblings and has shown equal love to all the dogs he meets. He has shown no tendencies towards chasing cats or birds, and tends to ignore any that come into the yard until altered by his siblings. He is a curious puppy who loves to explore the world around him and has already been on camping trips with his carers. While not as outgoing as some of his siblings, he enjoyed padding along behind his carers and sniffing all the goodness on the countryside air.
Jammy will grow up to be a medium/large dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. As he is a mixed working breed dog, Jammy will grow into a highly intelligent and energetic boy and will require a family who is able to cater to this by taking him for regular walks and ensuring his enrichment needs are met at home.
As Jammy is so young, he would benefit immensely from having a confident and calm dog friend at home to help guide him as he grows. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone at home with him all day, making sure he is the centre of their world.
Jammy needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He needs to be kept nice and warm, and would love a comfy bed with soft toys and blankets to nestle into. He is already showing some promise with toilet training and with consistent access to the outdoors, he has very few accidents indoors.
Jammy will be an excellent family dog and with the right training, socialisation and enrichment, he will be suitable for families with children of any age. You will need good fencing with no small gaps and it must be at least 6ft tall. He can't go to any properties which have rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Jammy’s siblings, Basil, Chilli, Chai, Oreo, Clover, Salt, and Pepper, are also available for adoption and would love to meet their forever families.
Jammy’s adoption fee is $700 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Jammy is in foster care in Stroud, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
