About Chilli - 8 Week Old Kelpie X (Trial)
Meet Chilli, our 8-week-old, Kelpie cross, big ball of fuzz. Her lovely thick tan coat is made even more stunning when paired with her bright blue eyes. This pup is a real looker! Chili is one of the biggest of her eight siblings, yet don’t let her big-boofy size fool you .... this girl is as sweet as they come! Lover of cuddles, treats and warm baths, Chilli is a dream dog for anyone looking for a fluffy friend to adore. She has so much fun running a muck with her siblings, but is almost always among the first to head for the comfort of her bed where she loves to be on the bottom of the puppy pile, soaking in all the love and warmth.
Chilli has been raised by loving foster carers in a home environment, and has shown her docile nature towards all the people she meets. However, she is also incredibly brave and shows no fear when interacting with other dogs of all sizes. She is more than happy to approach her elder Staffy foster siblings and ask them to play (though not always successful!). She has shown no tendencies towards chasing cats or birds. She is an adventurous puppy who loves to explore the world around her, and she has already been on camping trips with her carers where she loved finding sticks to chew on and falling asleep under the trees in the sun.
Chilli will grow up to be a medium/large dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. As she is a mixed working breed dog, Chilli will grow into a highly intelligent and energetic girl and will require a family who is able to cater to this by taking her for regular walks and ensuring her enrichment needs are met at home.
As Chilli is so young, she would benefit immensely from having a confident and calm dog friend at home to help guide her as she grows. If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone at home with her all day, making sure she is the center of their world.
Chilli needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. She needs to be kept nice and warm, and would love a comfy bed with soft toys and blankets to nestle into. She is already showing lots of promise with toilet training and with consistent access to the outdoors, she rarely has accidents indoors.
She will be a lovely family dog and with the right training, socialisation and enrichment, she will be suitable for families with children of any age. You will need good fencing with no small gaps and it must be at least 6ft tall. She can't go to any properties which have rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Chilli’s siblings, Basil, Chai, Jammy, Oreo, Clover, Salt, and Pepper, are also available for adoption and would love to meet their forever families.
Chilli’s adoption fee is $700 which includes her desexing when she is old enough. It also includes her first two vaccinations. She has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Chilli is in foster care in Stroud, NSW. Since she is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. She’ll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when she's 5 to 6 months old.
