Theo

Some may say that Theo has a face that only a mother could love but we know that isn't true because we have grown to love this all that he is. A true survivor and a cat that deserves a life of stability and security.

Theo lived in a colony in the Eastern Suburbs and possibly early on was owned or had human engagement. We believe this to be the case because he seemed familiar with cat toys and a house once he was taken in.

Theo is approximately 11 years old. He gets along with other cats and enjoys their company and was in foster care with a kitten whose company saw him become playful and energised. Sadly, through no fault of their own, the foster carer had to return him due to her lease situation.

He really enjoys playing with ping-pong ball (see video) and will lounge about the house like any other cat, but he likes his independency and prefers cats than people for affection.

A home with another cat would be great but one where he can just be himself without any fussing is fine to.

It would be nice for him to be able to be outside too as he enjoys lazing in the sun.

If possible, we would hope in the future to have an operation for his condition that we could have done at a charity rate so he can be more comfortable although he gets around pretty well and manages to make his way up into his cat tree.

Theo is currently in a short-term foster care situation and needs to be in his forever home where he can live out his final years.

While happy in the colony, Theo was suffering physically with what appeared to be difficulty in his hips and back legs, so we took him to the vet, and he was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hips and found to be FIV positive.

Due to his osteoarthritis, he requires a tablet each night which he takes easily in his food.
