About Dixie
Meet Dixie, an adorable 8-month-old female Dachshund with a heart full of potential. At first, she can be a little timid when meeting new faces or exploring new environments, but her friendly and affectionate nature soon shines through. Once she decides you are a friend, she shows her appreciation through loving pats and charming tail wags.
Dixie is every bit the classic Dachshund, with a lively spirit and a voice that frequently demands to be heard, especially when she's voicing her curiosity or playing with her doggy pals. Although she needs some basic training to manage her rambunctious nature, her eagerness to interact and play will be an advantage during this process.
Dixie thrives around other dogs, particularly those who match her size, and would benefit greatly from a furry friend in her forever home. When left alone, she may bark at first but quickly settles down once she realizes she's in a safe space. Additionally, while she currently finds cats perplexing and barks at them, with the right companion, she may adjust over time.
What Dixie needs is an owner ready to give her the training and socialization she deserves. In return, she guarantees loyalty and endless love, making her a delightful companion for those ready to embrace her spirited personality. With some patience and plenty of affection, Dixie is sure to become the heart and soul of her new household.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
