About Jett
If you’re looking for a confident, energetic, and independent dog that is highly trainable (as well as the best boy on the block!), then you’ve come to the right place! Jett is great with people, and loves to chill and be loved on in equal amounts. He is our longest long termer, having been in our care since July 2024, so we would love to see him adopted soon!
Jett gets along well with other dogs, but can become overwhelmed when he is around several others, so he would be perfect for someone looking for an only or second dog and who is willing to do a slow and proper introduction with any other dogs. He is friendly with children of all ages (he is the first one to ask for pats when at our adoption days!), but as Jett values his independent time, any children would ideally be older and/or understand that he needs his alone time. He is not suitable for a home with cats, chickens, or any other small animals as he has a strong prey drive.
Being a high energy dog, it is no surprise that Jett loves his daily walks and going out on adventures! Whether that is visiting the beach, or going camping and hiking, Jett will love it. However, when he is at home, he is a very quiet and independent dog who is happy to chill in his bed or in the backyard, so a home that can give him both would be perfect. Jett loves getting new toys to play with as well.
Jett is a super smart dog who is eager to learn, and picks up new commands and tricks quickly. He is house and leash trained (he walks beautifully with a harness too), and travels well in a car. Though he isn’t crate trained, his carer believes it would be easy to train him and that he would benefit from being so if he was to be left for long periods of time (such as working hours).
Jett is an inside and outside dog currently, and sleeps inside at night. He can be left in the backyard without issue while you’re out and about, and he doesn’t whine or bark, except for the occasional protective bark if someone walks past the fence a bit too close. Jett thrives on routine and stability, and he is his best self when you set boundaries firmly and fairly, so his forever family would ideally be able to continue providing him with this.
If you sound like the forever family Jett is looking for, then please don’t hesitate to contact us to arrange a meet-and-greet!⠀
**PLEASE NOTE ** All animals will be vaccinated, desexed, microchipped, and up to date with preventatives (fleas, ticks, mites etc) at time of adoption. All dogs over 6 months at time of intake are also tested for heartworm, and treated if positive. If animals are too young for desexing at time of adoption, a desexing voucher will be provided to the adopter.
