Lou

Lou (aka Lou-Lou, Lovely Lou, Looby Lou,and Lanky Lou) is ready to be Lucky Lou for her new people.

A lively 15-month-old (approx.) mixed breed with the most beautiful nature who loves everyone, especially children, and gets on well with other dogs too.

Busted out of the pound after 4 weeks as a stray with no history, she has had her vet work done (including removing a large cyst on her head) and was an angel at the vets, charming all the staff that she met. Very trainable, she has learned to sit, (offering a paw to her friends), drop, is working hard on her toilet and lead training, knows her name, and her recall has improved out of sight (from zero). At night she sleeps through on her own bed without a peep.

She is also learning that office time is quiet time, to enjoy a car ride, not to jump up on people and to wait for her food (she has been hungry so loves all food!).

In her foster home she keeps tabs on all her people, but especially loves the 5- & 7-year-old resident kids, plays hard with her bull arab foster brother and knows to keep her distance from the grumpy older kelpie girl.

Still very puppy-like, she needs a securely fenced home where her training will continue, and she can get plenty of exercise. Another similar sized and energy dog would be a bonus but not essential. She is way too interested in chickens and sheep and probably not suitable for a home with cats or pocket pets either.

She overflows with love for her people and will be a great kid’s dog as she loves a playmate with a ball/toy, or a fantastic running/walking companion for anyone. I have been lucky enough to have had a brindle staffy X just like her while my kids were younger and can honestly say she was the best dog I ever had. Now Lou is ready to find her forever home and be the best dog ever for her new family!
