About Oakley - 12 Week Old Cattle Dog X Mastiff (Trial)
In all my years of fostering, Oakley is one of my favourite pups. He has such a sweet, intelligent nature and is very easy to care for. He always wants to be a “good boy” and often looks up at me with his smiley face to check if he is doing the right thing.
If Oakley is inside he will cuddle on the lounge or play happily with his toys. If we are outside, I don’t need to put him on a leash because he will follow at my feet and not run off. He gets on very well with other dogs but he is also happy to spend time on his own and he sleeps through the night.
Oakley is a very healthy pup who has been raised in a home environment. He has been well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs and gets on with them all. He has met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate. He is not a high energy dog but he will need plenty of exercise as he does have Cattle dog in him and he is very bright.
Oakley is a very handsome pup and will grow into a large sized dog. We always recommend puppy training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise and training. Oakley will be easy to train because he is so bright and eager to please.
It would be great if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion, and playmate for Oakley but he is far more interested in people than other dogs and would make a great family dog or companion for a single owner. He needs there to be someone in the household that doesn’t work fulltime because Oakley would get too lonely and bored on his own.
Oakley needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until he is an adult. He would be a wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can’t go to rural fencing (e.g. mesh or wire).
His brother Oscar is also available for adoption.
His adoption fee is $700 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Oakley is in foster care in Pokolbin, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
