Calm & quiet home

Meet Count Catula,
The Count is a gentle, sensitive man. He is well recognised by his big, beautiful eyes that remind us all of little sauce pans. He is a friendly cat, who is curious & interested in taking in his surrounds from the comfort of his condo. Mildly anxious when meeting new people, The Count is best suited to an experienced owner. Once settled, Catula transforms into loving, sweet & social boy, keen for affection.
Catula is best suited to a calm & quiet home as he is sensitive to loud noises.
Count Catula is open to meet kids from 10 years & up. Reason for this is due to his slight nervousness when meeting new people & his overall shy, quiet demeanour. He needs a little extra time to settle, and by 'time' we mean just few minutes... He is fine to be picked up, carried & cuddled but only for short periods of time, preferring all four paws on the ground. Despite this, Catula loves affection & attention from his human friends. In addition, he loves his neck & cheeks being scratched too, as well as gentle strokes down his back.
Unfortunately, Count Catula is not suitable to live in a home with dogs. He appears to be quite fearful of them.
The Count seems interested in meeting other cats, but he was a little overwhelmed being outside of the comfort of his condo. He could possibly swing both ways - either happy with or without a cat friend - we won't truly know until he is settled into his new home. As always, we encourage anyone who has existing cats in the home to do slow, gradual introductions.
The Count is best to live indoors only. His gentle & shy nature will surely see him leave the safety of his property. Having him outside puts him at risk of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. Catula will happily be an indoor cat & most importantly will feel safer being inside, too, close to his new family.
Catula has low energy needs. As mentioned before, he isn't too interested in toys, he prefers human interaction & will purr & strut around in search of your hand (of face) to bunt.
Catula is not fussy with food – he loves all food on offer & seems to like Crunchers cat treats - he is also a tidy boy, and always uses his little tray without an problem.
Staff Comments: Catula is quiet & shy, he wants affection & tries to come out to get it but can be spooked easily by loud noises. He needs a patient & quiet home to help him gain confidence. He loves to smooch into you pats & we have seen him transform from super dooper shy to where he is now, so he has the ability to thrive.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
