About Humphrey
Are you an adventure-loving, active person who can’t wait to have a loyal, fun-loving sidekick by your side? Well, meet Humphrey, the woolly, energetic bundle of joy who’s ready to fill your days with fun, affection, and plenty of outdoor adventures!
This friendly guy is a total charmer, winning hearts at puppy school and dog parks alike. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and personalities, making friends wherever he goes, whether it's a playful pup or a more laid-back companion.
Humphrey is happiest when he’s running around, chasing his ball, or joining you on a beach day, hike, or any adventure you can think of. He’s got energy to burn and will need regular walks, runs, or playtime to keep him content. And while he’s a bit of a powerhouse on the lead (we recommend a harness or gentle leader), once he’s had his fill of exercise, he’ll settle down and be your ultimate companion, right at your feet, waiting for tummy rubs and affection. Humphrey's ideal home would be one where he can keep moving, as he's always up for a new game or adventure.
As a puppy, Humphrey did find it hard to be away from his people, but with patience and love, he’s learned to feel more secure and comfortable during those times apart. While he’s made great progress, he’s still a real ‘people’s dog’ at heart and thrives when he’s close to his humans. He’ll be happiest in a home where he can enjoy plenty of companionship and affection, offering endless love and loyalty in return.
He truly comes alive when he’s with his people. Whether you’re heading out on a day of exploring or just chilling at home, he’ll be right by your side, always making sure you feel loved and never alone. He’s been known to sneak a nap on your feet or cheer you up with his infectious joy, even on the toughest days.
He tends to get very excited when you first get home, but after some good playtime or a nice long walk, he’ll settle right down and become the cuddliest lounging buddy, ready for all the pets and cuddles you can offer.
Humphrey’s a smart cookie, too! He’s great at following hand signals, knows that ‘no’ means ‘no’, and has fantastic recall—well, unless he’s at the dog park and too busy being the social butterfly he is. Let’s just say, that if there’s a game of fetch or a new furry friend around, you might need to remind him twice (or three times) that it’s time to go!
Humphrey’s coat will require regular grooming, and though he’s not a fan of the force dryer at the groomer, he takes it like a champ (as long as air drying is an option!). He’s a bit of a squirmer during grooming and really isn’t a fan of being shaved, but he’s totally fine with nail trims.
Humphrey would do best in a home with plenty of space to stretch his legs, with people who love to be active, and having a dog companion would make him even happier. Right now, he lives with a couple of cats, and while he playfully chases them around, he’s just trying to make friends!
If you’re searching for endless laughter, loyalty and love, Humphrey is ready to fill those shoes or more fittingly, paws.
Medical notes
Humphrey is fed twice daily on a grain-free diet to support his sensitive skin, which can be an issue when his coat is long. Regular grooming to keep his coat clipped short will also help maintain his skin health.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
