About Lady Coco
Lady Coco is an absolute treasure, a true delight in every sense of the word. This beautiful Border Collie girl is not only a visual stunner with her striking appearance, but she also possesses a fantastic and gentle personality that perfectly complements her looks. She is truly an amazing pooch, one that brings joy and warmth to everyone she meets.
When it comes to her favorite activities, Coco enjoys a variety of simple pleasures. She loves taking short walks, where she can explore her surroundings and enjoy the fresh air. Playing in the backyard is another of her cherished pastimes, whether it involves chasing after toys, playfully pursuing birds, or simply lounging around with her family, enjoying some cozy couch cuddles. Belly rubs are another of her favorites, and she never misses an opportunity to indulge in them.
Coco’s interactions with humans are nothing short of heartwarming. She would make an excellent companion dog, as she absolutely adores human company. Coco is always happy to meet new people and is equally friendly with other dogs. She has encountered small children and remains calm and quiet around them, demonstrating her gentle nature.
When taking treats from your hand, Coco is very careful and gentle. She is not a jumpy girl, preferring to approach situations with a calm demeanor.
In terms of obedience, Coco has a bit of a playful side. She exhibits what one might call “selective hearing,” especially when she is out on a walk. While she can sit on command, she often chooses to do so only if food is involved.
She loves being in the car and will happily jump in and out on her own. Once inside, she sits quietly on the seat, enjoying the ride.
When it comes to socializing with other animals, Coco is quite adept. She has met numerous dogs during her walks and has had no issues with them. Although she hasn’t encountered a cat, her generally unflappable nature suggests that it wouldn’t be a problem for her.
Coco’s eating habits are quite straightforward. She eats when she feels like it, preferring high-quality dry kibble with a little something extra added for flavor. Her favorite food is sardines, and she is very gentle when taking treats.
Coco is an independent spirit, content to spend her days on her own without much fuss. Coco is accustomed to being on her own during the day, as her owner works full-time, and she handles this independence with grace, waiting patiently for her family to return home. She rarely barks and has access to the inside of the home during the day, where she enjoys sitting and watching the world go by. Whether lying in the sun or gazing out the window at the neighbors passing by, Coco is content in her own company. She has not shown any destructive tendencies while in care and is very gentle with her soft toys, including a monkey she regularly chews on, which only bears a small bite mark.
When it comes to toilet training and hygiene, Coco is impeccable. She has a medium-length coat that she loves having brushed, and she is completely house-trained, having never had an accident indoors.
Coco’s sleeping habits are quite simple. She mainly sleeps on the couch or her bed, resting soundly throughout the night.
In terms of exercise, Coco enjoys a little walk and doesn’t require long excursions. She is good on the lead if walked regularly, though she may pull a bit at the start if she hasn’t been walked in a while. She gets excited when she sees other dogs, eager to make new friends.
MEDICAL
Medically, Coco arrived in care with a sore right paw. After a course of anti-inflammatories and an X-ray, it was discovered that she has an extra bone in one of her toes, something she was born with. As long as she isn’t over-exercised, she is perfectly fine, so her walks are kept short and on softer surfaces like grass. She has no issues running around the backyard playing with toys, although she may lift her paw, a habit she has likely always had. She may need anti inflammatory medication if over exercised from time to time.
IDEAL HOME
In an ideal world, Coco’s dream home would be with someone who is frequently at home, providing her with plenty of companionship and attention. However, she is also quite independent and can manage well if you have a job that requires you to be away from home during the day. Coco thrives in the company of her loved ones, which makes her an exceptional companion for someone who is retired and looking for a loyal and affectionate friend to share their days with. Her friendly and gentle nature also makes her a wonderful match for families with children, particularly those who are familiar with dogs and know how to interact with them kindly and responsibly.
Coco is such a versatile and adaptable dog that she would be a great fit for a variety of different home environments. One of her favorite pastimes is lounging around in a backyard, so we are hoping to find a home for her that includes a grassy outdoor space where she can relax and enjoy the fresh air. Whether it’s a family with kids, a single person, or a couple, Coco would bring joy and companionship to any household lucky enough to have her.
