About Summer
Meet Summer, a friendly and active senior dog with a heart full of love to share. Summer is happy just to be with you and if you enter the room her tail will wag with such enthusiasm that it might just send a few things flying—watch out for those breakables!
Summer absolutely adores going for walks and shows her excitement with an uncanny Scooby Doo impression, but also loves to kick back and relax at home. Whether it’s lounging on a cozy bed or snuffling around in the garden, she’s content in her own little world. Her ideal day includes lots of chew treats, plenty of pats, and those delightful belly rubs. She loves to play with you by doing some zoomies in the garden, which shows she’s still a playful pup at heart.
MY IDEAL HOME: Summer is on the lookout for a loving home where she can be the one and only furry companion, soaking up all the attention from her family. While she is quite independent and can keep herself entertained, having someone around during the day for company and those much-loved pats would be wonderful! A peaceful environment with a yard for exploration is ideal, and few or no stairs would be great to support her graceful entry into her golden years. Summer needs a patient parent who can help build her confidence around other dogs and who is committed to her ongoing training.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Summer enjoys sleeping in late and taking things slow at home, but she is still an active senior who thrives on daily walks and engaging training activities to keep her mind sharp!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Summer is friendly with children and would be suited to a home with older kids, so long as her home is peaceful.
MY SUITABILITY TO DOGS AND CATS: Summer prefers to be the only pet in the house. She can be a bit nervous around other dogs, which might show up as reactivity during walks, but she is currently working on this with her wonderful foster family.
If you think you could be Summer's perfect match, let’s meet! She can’t wait to find her forever home!
Medical notes
Summer has some arthritic changes, she requires a healthy diet and regular joint supplements.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form.
For Cats: https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870
For Dogs: https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872
Please use these links rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
