About Caviar
Meet Caviar,
Caviar is a sweet & gentle girl, who is a little shy when you first meet her. She is best suited to an experienced cat owner as when she goes into new environments she can get a little anxious - she needs a little time to settle into a new space. Once she has settled you'll get to experience what we get to see now, a loving, adoring & affectionate girl whose destined for a nice home, patient owner & an endless supply of cuddles.
Caviar is best suited to a calm & quiet home, as she is sensitive to loud noises.
Caviar is open to meet kids from 5 yrs & up. Reason for this is due to her need of peace & quiet. Having said that, if you have children younger than 5 that’s ok providing that they aren't too loud.
Caviar doesn’t mind being picked up, carried & cuddled - but she prefers all paws on the ground. Although she is very affectionate, she'll allow herself to be picked up, but will often want to get back down. She prefers soaking up all of the attention whilst she's near you, like on a bench, couch or bed. She loves gentle pats & having her chin & back scratched. She will often seek you out for head bunts & will purr with glee when she's around you.
As we cannot test, we are unsure if Caviar would be fine to live with dogs or other cats. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners. If you intend on introducing Caviar to existing animals, we recommend doing so over a few days, with a slow introduction. She has met a few cats in the cattery & appears interested & inquisitive to interact.
Caviar is best to be indoors only as the outside world poses many risks, such as her running away, getting lost, injured or worst – she will be a very happy cat & most importantly, a safe cat, indoors!
Caviar has low energy. She doesn't appear to play with toys, she prefers pats & cuddles from her human friends instead.
Caviar is not fussy with food; she likes most food & treats that are offered to her. But may prefer a pat over eating if she has the option to choose one or the other.
Caviar uses her litter tray, but she will need multiple when she goes to her new home - these can then we minimised to one once she has settled in.
Staff Comments: Caviar is a beautiful cat once she's comfortable. She needed additional time to settle into her condo. She's a very calm, quiet cat that will tolerate most affection. She is super sweet & loves pats & and cheek scratches.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
