Medical notes
Birdy was born with hip dysplasia. We have had her operated on a Jps procedure to tighten the hip joints as she grows. Everyday she improves. She will be unique and have an odd gait but her zest for life and endearing positivity overcomes any difficulty. She just gets on with it and lives life. She is also deaf in her left ear but has no trouble hearing ♥️
British bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed. All suffer from BOAS in some way, either minor or severe. They are always at risk of boas ( brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome)becoming clinical- creating difficulty breathing. We expect you to have a complete understanding of the condition and discuss the potential surgical, environmental and medical modifications you may have to do for this condition with your vet before you apply for this dog. It is also a excellent idea to take advantage of the trial period to have your vet check over the dog and give you more pointers on this breed related issue and the expectations for their care and management.
