About Bertha
Requirements:
Must meet all family members
Kids (12yrs+)
Not suitable to live with dogs
Not suitable to live with cats
Inside only
Meet Bertha,
Bertha is a gentle, independent & sensitive girl who is suitable for experienced owners. Bertha is friendly but she needs a little time to warm up to her new surrounds before you get to experience how utterly gorgeous & affectionate she is. Once settled she's eager to make friends & will happily make biscuits & purr with content.
Bertha is best suited to a calm & quiet home due to her sensitivity to loud noises. She prefers a more leisurely approach to life.
Bertha is open to meet kids from 12 years & up – reason for this is due to her dislike of hustle & bustle. Although in saying that, if you have younger kids who are on the quieter side we have no doubt that Bertha will fit right in.
Bertha loves human interaction and especially loves being patted (everywhere). She adores her cheeks being scratched!
Bertha doesn’t mind being picked up, carried & cuddled but as mentioned before, she may need a little time to warm up to you first before you get to experience her super sweet & affectionate side.
Unfortunately, Bertha would not be suitable to live with dogs or other cats. She prefers to be the only feline in the house.
Bertha is best to be indoors only for the simple fact that she hated being in the cat park – she loves being inside, where she feels safe &secure.
Bertha is a little bit lazy, and she has low energy & is not interested in playing with toys. She prefers human interaction or simply sleeping in her bed with the occasional walk around.
Bertha is not fussy with food; she loves anything that is offered to her.
Bertha is also tidy, as she always uses her litter tray without any issues!
Staff Comments: Bertha loves spending her day curled up in her bed, being patted & doed on. She loves to make biscuits whilst being patted & sometimes she'll even just start making biscuits when you simply talk to her. She can get a little grumpy sometimes (who doesn't?) and may hiss but she doesn't mean anything by it - we think she just likes to do this to communicate, but every time she does this she is still purring and making biscuits. It could just be her way of saying 'no' or letting you know that she doesn't like something...

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
