About Meowgie
Meet Meowgie! This sweet, charming black male cat is eagerly awaiting his new family. With his sleek fur and striking eyes, Meowgie is not only beautiful but has a lovely personality that will capture your heart from the moment you meet him.
Meowgie is a delightful blend of playful and affectionate. He revels in playtime and will keep you entertained with his lively antics. But Meowgie also has a softer side; he craves attention and will soon find his way to your lap or cozy up to you on the couch or in bed, enjoying every pat and snuggle you offer. Incredibly soft to the touch, he doesn't shy away from showing his affection, often giving gentle kisses.
Despite being an excellent companion, Meowgie is well-suited for a home where he can enjoy some time alone during the day. While you’re at work, Meowgie is content to amuse himself and look forward to one-on-one time with you when you return.
He integrates seamlessly into homes with other pets, happily chilling alongside his furry friends. A little vocal at times, he has a charming way of making his presence known, without being overwhelming.
Meowgie has a soft spot for good food, which makes mealtime a pure joy. And despite his playful and slightly vocal nature, he is a very well-behaved cat with lots of love to give. If you're seeking an amazing companion who will bring warmth, joy, and companionship to your life, look no further than Meowgie.

Medical notes
Meowgie is FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) positive. FIV is common in male tom-cats who have spent life outside, un-desexed and fighting other male cats. It is transmitted from the bite of one infected cat, then proceeding to infect another.
What is it?
The virus depletes the number of white blood cells, which eventually makes the cat less able to fight off infection. However, because it is such a slow acting virus many FIV positive cats can enjoy a normal lifespan with no apparent health problems resulting from the virus. FIV is species specific. It can only be transmitted from cat to cat, not to humans or other animals.
What does this mean for his ongoing quality of life and care?
A cat who contracts FIV will usually still have a strong immune system for several years after infection, it is only over time, that the effects of the virus may start to show, and even then, most infections can be treated with the appropriate medications. With love and good care however, many FIV+ cats can live normal lifespans. These days, it's not unusual to find FIV+ cats reaching 15 years or more.
Meowgie has had a health check and his FIV is not affecting his health or quality of life deeming him fit for adoption.
Meowgie has a healed corneal perforation in his right eye. Meowgie has a lacerated third eyelid on his left eye.
Meowgie has been seen by an eye specialist and his prognosis is good, he has been cleared for adoption. No medication or further treatment is required at this stage.
