About Fitzroy
Fitzroy is as cool and stylish as the suburb he is named after. He is a calm dude who likes to know what’s going on but also happy to seek some quiet time by himself. Sometimes this is a challenge as he in a foster home with two other greyhounds and a lively lab. Although he has never been at home alone without the other dogs, his foster Mum feels he could adapt to a home as the only dog too.
Fitzroy interacts well with the other dogs and plays well. He does prefer to go to his own bed rather than the bed-hopping habits of the other three. He loves his food so will always offer to tidy up any unattended bowl of his forster mates.
Fitzroy has adapted to life in a home very well. He is a master of stairs and zips in and out of the dog door. He sleeps soundly through the night and only gets up if you do so he can say hi. He goes back to sleep to wait for morning commotions before he gets up.
On his walks, Fitzroy is generally happy to meet any dog and is polite. He doesn’t mind walking on a busy street, not phased by trucks or noisy kids.
Fitzroy’s gentle smile charms most humans he meets. Every day he is looking more handsome, putting on a little weight and his coat that started out a bit scruffy is now looking fine.
Fitzy would suit folk who are home more often than not. He would be perfect working from home as he is not too clingy or needy. He just likes to check in every couple of hours to make sure you get enough of his hugs and gentle licky kisses to keep you going. He would also be the perfect office dog.
Fitzroy is a very relaxed easy hipster.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
