About Bautista
Bautista is a 7-month-old Schnauzer cross with a sweet but timid nature, looking for a special home to help him thrive. Though small in size, he needs a home that understands his unique needs. Bautista can be shy and reserved, so his ideal family must have another confident, happy dog to help him feel secure and learn how to navigate the world. He looks to other dogs for guidance and feels more comfortable when he has a canine companion by his side.
Bautista is best suited for homes without young children, as he can get overwhelmed by their energy. Families with older teenage kids who understand the importance of giving him space when needed will be a great fit. He requires patience and time to adjust, and his family will need to work on his training and behavioral development to help him gain confidence.
This little guy is looking for a family who will keep him indoors and include him in their daily lives. Bautista also needs regular walks and outdoor time to meet new people and dogs, helping him overcome his shyness. Taking him to puppy school would be hugely beneficial, providing structured socialization and helping him grow into a more confident dog.
Bautista isn't ready to be left alone for long periods, so he needs a family that is home most of the time and willing to invest in his growth. With the right environment, patience, and love, Bautista has the potential to become a loyal and loving companion. He's a beautiful boy who just needs a little help discovering that the world isn't so scary after all.
To book a meet and greet with Bautista please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
