Meet Mr. Dougal, an energetic and playful little Monkey who will bring a smile to your face every day. This sweet fellow has an infectious spirit, and his always-wagging tail is a testament to his cheerful personality. Dougal’s enthusiasm for life is evident from the moment you meet him, and you'll quickly notice how he loves to be in the company of both humans and other dogs.
Our sweet little fella is a Maltese x Shih tzu weighing in at 9 kilos and a little overweight
Dougal has a passion for playtime, making him the perfect addition to a fun-loving household. He finds endless joy in playing with his stuffed toys, chew toys, and balls. His favorite games include tug of war and fetch, although he prefers to turn fetch into a game of "retrieve and not give it back." Dougal also has an adorable habit of taking his favorite possessions and hiding them in his bed, where they keep him company during naps.
When it comes to interacting with humans, Dougal is a true social butterfly. He gets along wonderfully with people and even little kids, although he can occasionally exhibit "little dog syndrome." This playful monkey knows how to express his affection, often begging with his little paws pumping in the air for treats. He's great on a leash and enjoys daily walks, where he gets to sniff and explore his surroundings. He will bark at the front door when someone knocks to alert you but then once you have opened it , be the perfect welcoming committee to every visitor .
Dougal thrives on his daily walks, eagerly trotting along and showcasing his enthusiasm for exploring the world around him. His playful energy is evident when he meets other animals along the way; he especially loves to greet dogs with excitement, forming an instant connection that showcases his friendly nature.
Dougal shares his home with a larger female dog and gets along splendidly with her, engaging in playful activities like tug of war and chase all day long. He also shows a friendly demeanor towards other dogs, making him a great candidate for a multi-pet household.
Dougal’s routine includes two meals a day, consisting of premium dry food for breakfast and a mix of dry and wet food for dinner. He relishes his little treats and will happily entertain himself indoors or outdoors. When left alone, Dougal stays busy with a Kong filled with doggy treats. As long as he has a cozy, enclosed spot to nap and something to keep him occupied, he's perfectly content for a few hours on his own.

While indoors, Dougal is well-behaved and loves to chill in his bed with a good chew toy. He also enjoys snuggling up on the couch for some quality time with his favorite humans. He’s toilet trained but hovers around to signal when he needs to go out, so a doggy door would be ideal for his new home. Dougal sleeps indoors in his own bed and also has an open crate outside for those times when he prefers to nap al fresco.
Dougal was been freshly groomed and did well but not a fan of his feet being clipped which is common in these breeds

Adoption Criteria
A yard of min small with secure fencing and shade and shelter
A home that will allow him both inside and out
A home that can ensure he is professionally groomed and clipped
Children in the home would be fine but if in residence they must be dog savvy and kind and gentle
A home that has the time to take him on a lovely walk and spend the time playing with him
We have not tested him with cats
A home that has another dog would be great as he loves to play with other dogs of any size but the resident dogs must be great with other dogs
