About Chino
Meet Chino, an adorable male dachshund just shy of 3 years old, who's ready to bring joy and companionship to his new family. Chino has a shy and quiet demeanor at first, but once he gets to know you, you'll discover a sweet and loving companion who's eager to share his affection.
This charming little fellow would thrive best in a calm and understanding household where his sensitivity is appreciated. While he might initially be reserved, he'll soon start to seek out your company, enjoying those quiet pats that make his tail wag with happiness. His shy nature means he'll take a bit of time to warm up, but the bond you'll form with him will be immensely rewarding.
Chino enjoys the company of other dogs his size and finds comfort and confidence in their presence. He needs lead and basic training, so he's looking for an owner who can provide him with patience and positive reinforcement to build his confidence and skills. Though he can be a stimulus barker, he quietens down quickly, especially in a calm environment.
However, it's important to note that Chino might bark at cats and may be tempted to chase them, so he'll need supervision around feline friends.
If you're looking for a gentle, quiet, and loyal companion who's ready to blossom with a bit of love and patience, Chino may be the perfect addition to your home. His tentative bark and soft eyes are just waiting for a cozy corner and a heartfelt friendship to make him feel truly at home.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions. Chino had a dental scale and clean with one extraction under GA.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
